cabin a/c fan

The inside heater fan is beginning to make whirring noises. Are these difficult to change? I'm guessing this will become worse as time goes on.

You can try lubing it...
Remove the cabin filter...
And put a bit of grease on you finger...and reach WAY UP..about when you armpit is in the hole, you will feel the fan, etc...you can carefully lube it...
Did mine about 5 years ago...no issues.

Sticky, thanks for that info. Do you lubricate the back of the fan, like does it sit in a carrier? Just wanting to know what to feel for and where to apply grease.

I did two things...
I tried to get some around the center hub/bearing area...
I first used some mobil1 spray lube with a super long red hose...from a seafoam sprayer I think...was just long enough to point into the hub area...then tried to push some mobil1 red grease into it...seems to have fixed it...
I think more is not better, key is location...my might have put a trace on the edge..don't remember, but if you feel around, and look at the skematics, you will have a good idea of what you are feeling.
I understand it is a fairly big job to swap out the fan...so worth a try.
