Yellow steering wheel, arrow left and right side of it??
I searched google, cant find the light, I searched manual, no light listed. I turned my car off and a yellow steering wheel with an arrow on each side (pointing in opposite directions) showed up.
NO LOCK icon or light in case you were going to suggest that.
Any ideas?

Without actually seeing the light, it sounds like a Power-Assist Steering Failure.

For us to help you
1) Please take a photo
Without the photo: This lamp indicates a fault in the electro-mechanical assisted steering system. The steering may become very heavy and the driver may struggle to turn the steering wheel comfortably and thus require the vehicle to be recovered into a repairer. As with most systems an intermittent fault may be reset by turning off the vehicle and restarting it; although this will still need to be checked to prevent future breakdowns. On some systems it may also be worth checking the power steering hydraulic fluid level.
2) Get an OBDII code readout.
OR
Maybe something Brake Pad Wear Warning Symbol/Low Brake Pad warning light. This symbol is meant to tell when to service your vehicles brakes. The dashed lines are meant to represent the pads themselves. Your brakes may also pulse or squeak as a warning when the brake pads are low. Contact your dealer soon. Note that the symbol of a circle with “brackets” (arrows?) on either side, broken or otherwise, represents brake components. What is shown inside and the details of the “brackets” and color specify the nature of the problem.

It is similar to this from a BMW forum except the arrow is not on top but on either side.
It occurred when I backed into a spot (on a hill) and turned engine off.
No circles, no dashed lines just a steering wheel with arrow left and right.

Weird, a gen2 US version displaying an odd icon. As a previous poster mentioned, must have something to do with the steering. Any odd behaviors?
You're in the right forum, hopefully someone has seen that.

ly happened once this am as above.
I've checked a couple times while parked, no light, steering licks unlocks fine engine starts.
At first I thought it was a light to warn u are parked on a hill so turn your wheel left or right to prevent roll back lol....
