07 "S" with P115c Code
I have a 2007 cooper S that appears to run just fine... but the check engine light is on. That points you to the MAF sensor which I purchased a second one and installed but did not make any difference. When driving the car with the scanner connected the fuel trims remain almost 100 percent on with little change. That tells me that it's not a vacuum leak, but I had it checked anyhow and no leaks were found.
Odd that the car seems to run fine (perhaps just a minor miss at low idle) but can't make this blooming light go out...
HELP...

Is the code coming back on? Because if everything seems well other than the light not going off, have the code cleared with a scanner, or disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Should clear the code so you can see if it comes back on for the problem still bein there, or if i t just never reset.
Correct... it clears with the scanner and then if you drive with the scanner connected you can see it shows a pending code... after shutting off the car and re-starting the code is thrown again and the check engine light comes on once again...
What kind of air filter are you using? what had you done to the car before the code got thrown? I've been reading that cleaning the maf fixed this code for a few people. One of which got the code after a new intake or filter was installed and it was just excess filter oil gumming up the maf.
I went through this problem. The dealer first tried to replace the Mass Airflow Sensor. That didn't work. Then they said it was the Vanos unit. Light came back on almost immediately. Then they replaced the Turbo. Still no. By this point I was about to pop a blood vessel I was so mad. Finally, they replaced the throttle body. BINGO. That did the trick. The light hasn't come on since.

This is the 2nd time Ive seen that the throttle body was the cause of the code. And that once it was replaced the code went away. Might as well try it. I have the same code. Been told it was the MAF... the turbo inlet...the valve cover...and now the throttle body.
