Hi All,

I seem to have a problem with my '07 R56 S... I was driving home earlier today and the seatbelt/airbag failure lights came on on both the tach and the main dash.

A quick check in the manual suggested that this was a failure in the restraint and safety systems, but I should wear the seatbelt anyway while I take it to the dealership to be looked at.

Using the onboard 'hidden menu' on the tach, I checked out of there were any errors codes listed (item 14), however there are no error codes for anything listed at all.

Short of taking it to the dealership or to the local Mini specialists, does anyone have any thoughts as to what could be causing (and subsequently how to resolve) the issue?

 

I think you're headed to a dealer. The bad news is, they are going to charge big time just to diagnose the problem. I had a honda accord that did the same thing. Took it to the dealer and they wanted $350 just to look at it. I decided to wait, and sure enough, I was in a major accident and the bags did not deploy (totaled the car). I wasn't hurt, but it was an eye opener.
