Hard Vibration from engine/transmission at idle

Recently my car has developed a violent vibration when I come to a stop and idle the engine. The problem is much worse after driving the car for about 15 or more minutes. I have a manual and notice when I lightly engage the clutch it feels like there is a lot of movement in the engine and/or transmission. I recently replaced the hydraulic engine mount which helped a little. Do I most likely have another bad engine mount? Is there a transmission mount I should check out? What should I inspect?

The mount between the oil pan and sub frame tends to fail. Also check the upper mount on the right ( passenger) side. The trans mount is heavy duty. I don't know if its prone to failure.

So I went ahead a replaced the lower engine mount. The old mount definitely had some cracks in the rubber on the large side. I added powerflex inserts into the new mount.

I also put the yellow powerflex bushings in the transmission mount.

My passenger side upper engine mount was replaced 1000 miles ago.

After all these things were replaced I still have the issue but can feel it even more due to everything being a lot stiffer.

The problem is at its worst after driving the car for 45 minutes or more. After the car has been driven for that time, the car vibrates a lot more violently than it should when I am sitting at a stop light. With the clutch pushed in I revved the engine and the vibration was present from idle (800 rpm) to about 2200 rpms. Once it reaches 2200 RPMS the hard vibration completely goes away. The hard vibration is also felt when trying to engage the clutch into 1st gear from idle. I have to give the engine a little extra throttle to overcome this vibration.

When the car is cold you can still feel the hard vibration when engaging the clutch into first gear.

This hard vibration is only felt at idle or at low RPMs when engaging first gear.

Where should I look next? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you check your CV joints for being loose? Or if the vibration coming from the the left or the right side of the mini. that would explain the being in first gear. also check your well for bubbles or dent in the rim. if it happens when you moving.

hope this helps.

I have the Vibration issue on r52 2006 mini. when i rev it up between 1000 and 2800 rpm. and smooth out at 3000 rpm. when i am in neatrual. i read the some vibration could be related to sensor for the intake valve and exhaust valve. they are pretty low cost. but i was looking at you post in case it was something else.

mine does exactly same as your car. I replaced upper engine mount and lower engine mount with powerflex bushing but i didn't replace the transmission mount. I am planning to install the powerflex bushing on transmission mount soon. hopefully you can figure this out.

I know adding the power flex bushing will cause alot of vibration at idle. I just went to complete stock poof gone.

Beck&Arnley was exactly the mount I had with a lot of vibration. Yes, the mount itself looked solid, but nevertheless - it was a culprit. Once I replaced it to OEM (Corteco) - vibration is gone.

The clutch is suspect. Sounds like something internally is not in balance. I have yellow poly bushings everywhere on my engine and transmission along with a VIBRA-TECHNICS upper engine mount. Idle is smooth and no excess NVH throughout the rev band.
