when the throttle is "punched" or blipped heavily from idle - at the same time there is also a somewhat loud whump that that has a squeak associated w/ it. An air intake was recently installed; perhaps this is normal and just wasn't as noticeable w/ the factory air box. (fyi the car is an '04 w/ 6k miles and v.36 since new)

I absolutely know I have the yo-yo as it's been aparent when driving since day 1; however, I didn't realize that it may be noticeable when the car was merely idling?!

That's the sound of your car "breathing in" a huge gasp of air. With my Alta intake I can hear it quite clearly...with the stock intake, you really can't hear it much at all.
