Please Help, CEL Codes, Limp Mode

Hi,

I just got the following codes:

P0300
P0301
P0302
P0303
P1497
P013A

The car is a 07' R56. The car just suddenly went into limp mode on the highway. Can someone help me with a checklist of things I should look at first before taking it to the dealer?

Thanks.

The P03xx codes mean you have misfires in the cylinders, the last number identifying the cylinder (in your case all 1+2+3 cylinders are misfiring).

P1497 reads downstream throttle air leak.

P013A: O2 Sensor slow response-Rich to Lean.

I think the two last errors are caused by the cylinders misfiring. The misfiring itself could be attributed to a number of reasons: faulty spark plugs, ignition coils or carbon buildup, fuel injection.

Since you are not listing any code related to the coils or fuel injection system, we can assume thse are fine. Also three spark plugs are unlikely to fail at the same time. That leaves carbon buildup as the most likely culprit, which is really difficult to self-diagnose.

Thanks for the link. I'll look into that now.

Did a compression test. Cylinder 1 has zero compression.

As they say, "Well there's your problem!"

What are the results of the leakdown test? Hopefully your problem is in the top end of the engine *crossing fingers*
