Hello All! My name is Matt. I am about to start driving an 09 MCS regularly, and had a few questions. First, some back ground:

In 2005 my wife (then girlfriend) bought her first MCS, the S/C version. Loved the car, but at 50k miles traded it in on a 07 VW GTI. Drove that for ~48k, and traded it in on the current MCS. It was a custom build (as was the first).

We are picking her up a 2011 BMW 135i for her new car, and I will be driving the MCS to work daily. I have a commute around 95 miles per day, 4 days a week, so switching from my truck to the car will save some money, and bring a few more smiles - and she still gets to drive a Mini whenever she feels the need for some fun.

As part of this switch, I am selling my current truck and we are purchasing another older truck to serve those duties. This means I am now in the process of reviewing issues/bulletins, potential problems, etc for 3 vehicles.

The Mini is low on the list of concerns, as we have owned it since new, and I know the maintenance on it to the point it has not been neglected. But to be honest, I dont pay a lot of attention to it - she takes it in for scheduled stuffs, but I have been maintaining my own vehicles, as well as motorcycles, so I have not worried too much about the Mini, since we have had a warranty and free maintenance all... (embarrassing, but...)

With that said, it is going from a 10 mile commute to 45 miles each way, so I want to make sure I am up to date on any potential issues that need to be taken care of shortly to ensure a reliable and fun commute.

The car is currently at ~41k miles.

Anything I should watch for, check out, or consider replacing now, or in the near future? I will be browsing the forum when I can, but I dont want to miss anything...
