Does anyone know what the numbers mean when you hold down the odometer trip reset for about 5 seconds a set of data comes up and gives readings. Does anyone know how to interpret this data, or what it pertains to ?

Could this be a diagnostic computer. It could read out if your O2 sensor or other sensors are malfunctioning. Does this sound like a possibility to anyone else.

If this is correct, it's mighty generous of Mini to include it. Those testers are expensive!

Cheers

It gives readings like:
1.0 155864
1.1 785245
etc etc etc. These aren't actual readings but it's the basic format of the data.

The numbers ( if they are close to 15 K and 25 or 40 K could be the service/Inspection intervals ?

Now that it could be, because I know my MINI dealership refers to the services as the 1.0 service and the 2.0 service

Over at MINI2 there's a thread on diagnostic info available from the MINIs odometer trip reset button and display.

In the owners' manual.... (that thing most of us have long forgotten) ...... It shows a display of a small clock and a number after it for # of days to change the brake fluid, but it does not really explain how to get that, so I am guessing that is the display you are seeing.

No that's not what being seen, it's something else that is somewhat unclear. Check the thread on Mini2.com as referenced above for a discussion.

Thanks for your posts. Mini2 does have some good info. I will also check with the Tech at the dealer for the specifics and post them here.

Regards,

Kesh
