Is it drivable with engine lights on??

Im having some cold start problem with my car

My dealer told me i need to replace my HPFP but they did not have any in stock so they told me to come back sometime next week(wednesday)

My Service guy told me it is okay to drive around since this issue only occurs in cold start and it becomes normal after the engine gets warmed
but this morning when I started my car the yellow engine light on speedometer and half filled engine light on the techometer came on and it stays on no matter how long I wait !!

I called the dealer and they told me its okay to drive with those lights on and just call the road side assistance if ever it stalls while driving???!!?!?!?!

Anyway I just wanna know if it is really okay to drive with these thing on

Personally if the tech thinks it might stall while driving, i say park it.

As long as you only get a yellow engine light (not a red one) you are safe to drive further... The car may however under-perform or consume more fuel.

They can't give you a loaner? If they said it was okay, then have it in writing. I would be hesitant to drive it too. Who knows what other damages come from defective HPFP.

They told me either I take my car back and bring it whenever I want or get a lonaer and leave my car.
I chose to take my car back because it seem these lights disappear once the engine is warmed up but now it stays on...

I would take their loaner. Err on the side of cautious. Unless you don't plan to keep the mcs for longer than the warranty.
