OK, you only saw this here first on MCO....some of you may have had a small rattle or some kind of small tapping noise coming from the back end of your Cooper or S model when backing out of your driveway or going over small rolls or bumps on the road.

Come to find out that this noise is from the small rubber ***** that pull your parcel cover up - that are now extending down and banging up against the plastic panneling in your rear boot area.

Drove me crazy for a few weeks until it dawned on us at the shop.

Oh well...maybe it will heal a headache or two.

That's rattle #1 fixed, I guess. Although I never had that one ocurring. Now for rattle #2, which is around the sunroof area. The one I have going on. Service guy at my dealer is working on some other 'S' now. Says he needs to take off the headliner and a bunch of other stuff to locate it.
Well, at least everything else is alright. But IT IS the small things that drive most people nuts.

That's actually pretty funny, cause my dealer mentioned about them banging around driving you mad if you unhooked the loops from the hatch...

The sunroof rattle can be fixed by placing sticky backed velcro onto the back of the two flaps that pop up when the sunroof is open.

If you look at those flaps they will have wear marks from where the spring loaded flaps vibrated against the leading edge of the sunroof.

Thanx for the suggestion there Dave. Now I don't have to ride around with the sunroof slightly open all the time, so as to get rid of the rattle. If it works, that should do me until the next time I venture out to my dealer 4 hours away.
