Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
Thats cheapest Ive ever seen BUT make sure its the latest design or you just wasted $260. That's a new EBAY seller. He may be selling old stock.
I wouldnt risk it. Go to ECSTuning.
Thanks, yes it has to be the 11127646555 number which we have on our site. It has to be on the box by the MINI logo sticker. Which is the most up to date part. The little megaplast logo on the side does not guarantee that as there were so many revisions in a short time.
Also if you guys need anything else or have any issues we are here.
Most cars use a $20 PCV valve. $300 every 30k miles for a PCV system is ABSURD.
I'm confused. the part number on your new valve cover is 295-16-15h88. which matches none of the numbers listed on ecs tuning.
the number on my new valve cover is 619-17-11h39. which again matches none of the numbers on ecs tuning. the number on my old valve cover matches none of the numbers either.
Those number you have may be the batch numbers they use internally. The little white sticker on the box should have the MINI part number we have on our site.
The number i think you see is on the back of the part itself: etched into the plastic which is an internal production/part number from the manufacture.
Weird. I know. The box/packaging it came in will have the associated number.
I just checked the box, actually still have it. it has the bmw sticker with the part number ending in 555 on it under the shipping label I never saw till now. so I guess I do have the latest revision and these numbers stamped onto the valve covers are serial numbers, so every ones will be different. perhaps if someone wanted to find out if they had the latest revision they could call a dealer and give them the serial number and they could tell you.
Can the PCV valve/system in the valve cover get completely blocked/stuck shut? The turbo inlet side seems to be dry; I have a catch can on that side and it has been empty for a little while now, and the lines seem dry running to and from it. The rear PCV line has fresh oil after driving. No error codes, no strange oil consumption, but I am troubleshooting a boost surge issue under full throttle and noticed the dry catch can. Thanks
Yes, the turbocharger side of the PCV can get blocked and if the rear PCV line has been blocked or deleted, it can cause pressurization of the crankcase and excessive oil consumption. The cure is a new head cover.
Big dollar spread for the extra emblems, stickers and hardware. Is the PCV design the same in all of them, or are some older designs than others? Confusing parts listing. @ecs please help.
Yes, those kits have all the extra stickers and emblem, or if you need the front plastic trim. Like when your MINI was new from the factory. Some people want all those, others just need the valve cover itself. See the kit contents or the kit pics.
Main part comes with the gasket, oil cap, and the little plug you insert in the back. We sold out of the valve covers but they should be coming soon, for a short time we were the only people in the US to have them in stock. Hold tight guys.
those weren't on ebay when I bought mine. it has the same part number as the one on ecs. for brand is says JDMSPEED. it looks identical to the real thing looking at the pics
We have two other forums going on oil consumption in the base model engines (N12, N16) and the possibility of a plugged CCV (PCV) valve. Once we found new CCVs for $30 sold separately from the entire valve cover ($400 installed) it was easier to go for it.
Google on eBay "CCV N14 (or your engine there). They take a month coming from Russia, marked "BMW".
Here's mine just installed a week ago (January 8, 2018) with the original on display-

unfortunately the n14 ccv is not serviceable. you would have to cut plastic parts out of the way just to get to it. I've seen the ebay listings from russia. they should remove "n14" from them.
You can buy a new valve cover for $60 on the internet that bolt up perfect, no leaks etc. it doesn’t have mini stickers etc but for $300? Get a catch can. About $40 and PCV block off tabs ($20 from mini) and don’t keep messing with trying to fix something that was broken. The n14 prince engine has issued so either replace and change or you’ll have a lot of headaches! It’s stupid to pay $1000 for minor fixes for a $7000 car.

Not a $7000 car, closer to $28,000 before options car The deprecation of the car does not mean the cost of repair parts depreciate as well. If that were true, we could all go buy an entire new engine for $50.
