Yes it was inch lbs. I work on rovers so rarely comes up. Size of bolts, so that is about half a pinke with a small wrench.
i have a universal seal BMW good for different materials metal, plastic, polyurethane base sealing compound.

RTV= room temperature vulcanization. Its doesnt refer to a specific product.
As long as what you have can handle 250 F youre good to go.
Inch lbs that was about half a finger tight.
assuming the red tab gets pulled once installed.
& of course the RTV tube of which you need very little the cap lost itself under engine bay somewhere.
Okay replace with one that comes with it, btw the instructions were not good that was not noted in instructions.
it was pointing to center rear of cover for the n12 & the n14 in center of cover.
You can buy a new valve cover for $60 on the internet that bolt up perfect, no leaks etc. it doesn’t have mini stickers etc but for $300? Get a catch can. About $40 and PCV block off tabs ($20 from mini) and don’t keep messing with trying to fix something that was broken. The n14 prince engine has issued so either replace and change or you’ll have a lot of headaches! It’s stupid to pay $1000 for minor fixes for a $7000 car.
