What mods are there that might make an '07 Cooper S more reliable?

OCC?

Anything else?

Maybe one of those oil pan plugs with a built in tap Frequent oil changes is a must.

Maybe a catch-can to reduce PCV vapors on Direct injection motors...will reduce carbon build-up in the intakes, and reduce the need to have it cleaned....a major issue on ALL DI motors, especially the gen2 MINI.
IF I had a GEN2, I'd do one pretty quick!! Just be sure to install it right, and to keep it drained.

I have heard, but have not verified that the plug on the Gen2 cars limits this...due to the position....Def a great item on Gen1 cars though!!

An extended warranty seems to make them more reliable, at least until the warranty runs out.

Magnetic drain plugs are great, and make changing the oil easier.

Heatshields help keep the hood scoops from warping.

Lower engine Torque Arm Bushing, this will improve the driving of the car, and I think longterm it will make the lower engine bushing last longer.

The end-user is what makes ANY car run / last longer. Period.

You can have some of the best vehicles ever made been degraded into scrap heaps if the owner neglects or negates preventative maintenance.
On the opposite hand, you can have a budget vehicle run for a decade or more with taking a pro-active approach on maintenance.

Yeah! It's the reverse voodo effect, if you have a spare part, you will never need it. Sell that spare and it'll be the first thing to break!
