Chrome headlight trim bubbling

Everyone's heard of the warping hood scoops, but this is a new one to me.

Anyone else seen this?

problem: the nearest dealership is about 100 miles away (I drove there and back just this past Friday), and did this when I last went in for warranty work.

Make a phone call, supply some photos and see what can be done.
Otherwise out of pocket expensive to replace a headlight ring is CHEAP.

If the problem is heat related to engine temperature than I would have it checked out.HEAT/ MELTING...not so good.

Yeah, I tried that, but they needed the old parts back to send in for it to be a covered warranty repair. And the parts weren't terribly expensive ($80 for the pair), but it was more than the price of gas to get up there and back. So, I took thursday morning off work and went up there and got it done (if I had waited another day, my commute would've pushed me past 50k miles). Also had them replace the hood scoop (melting), which is $150-200 by itself.

Yeah, my service advisor said he'd seen this issue a number of times before. I'd never heard of it on these forums, but apparently it's fairly common (like the hood scoop issue). Maybe a heat shield would help remedy, but this is a long-term car for me and I'm a bit uneasy for reliability reasons about directing heat back into the turbo like that.
