yeah... I'm just getting it towed to my local shop to have real mechanics take care of it. haha. I'll just get it towed back if they can figure it out to put it all back together

Oh the perks of having a car model that had 3 manual trans options, 4 shift box options, 4 shift cable options with two different cables per option.
are you fkn serious? LOL. Well then......
I talked to my bmw repair guy and he ordered the other condition cable, Monday I'll know if it's that cable. Jeeeeeeeeeeze.... lol
lol...cable came in, looks the same with an even smaller hole. So..... I guess buy a new transmission bracket with the ***** and drop the subframe AGAIN is what it looks like? Yay... 4 months and still no car
Rats... This puts a damper on my plans getting a pair as a preventative maintenance item. I would hate to take things apart and find out that the part doesn't fit. Do you have a caliper so that you can measure the diameter of the "*****". I would like to compare it with mines.
So... the piece that's on the transmission that has the *****... Anyone know how to get that measurement short of ordering that part and then measuring? the fact that now the plastic collars are now metal... and don't give at all... no way in hell this is the right cable / ball combo. Beyond frustrated....
Thanks everyone! well here she is.. drove A LOT this weekend. haha.
So in the end check this out... local BMW repair shop gave me a 808 cable instead of the 707... that's why it wouldn't fit, that's why I had it towed there to get figured out and exhaust / air box put back in. That's why they charged me 520$ besides the cable.
Pissed................... but she drives great, the new balljoints and control arm bushings I did at the same time were a HUGE improvement.
Something off tho... realized tonight in the rain my asc isn't coming on.... hydroplaning man. the hell did I break? lol
" 808 cable instead of the 707 " Figured it was something , because things just did not add up. Finally fixed. Try some aggressive driving or try to spin the front tires and get the little traction light to kick on. If not try the ACS fuse.
Hah... and after what they charged me, the hose going into the airbox was completely loose and hanging off to the side. Thisssss is why i dont let anyone touch my mini except me. Anyway, I drove it aggressively for 2 days and its not coming on when the wheels slip. the light pops up when i hit the switch but..... yeah. So, I disconnected the battery, i'll try it again in the morning and see if it reset? I"m just curious if i disconnected something when I dropped the sub frame.
Maybe check the level sensors? but they clock spring behind the steering wheel controls the direction or the angle at what the wheel is for the ASC or DSC.
crap... level sensor as in headlight level? there was one cable that on the pelican site said (remove if you have self leveling lamps, and I didn't think I do so... I dropped the subframe and the connector kind of cracked. Could be that eh? haha. attached to the subframe?
Sounds like it or you pulled the harness. The level sensor if there is a bad connection the headlight will set too low or high and on start up of the headlight will adjust funny.
Trying to remember the ACS system can read off the angle sensor if equipped, think one of the MINI Product mangers told me this back in the day. I know it reads of the clock spring. Also the fact it might have pulled the engine harness when the subfame dropped and it was plugged in. Otherwise the ACS reads off the ABS sensor which would trigger a tri -fecta light.
