Did you check the tire pressure? Run flat tires don't look flat when they are out of air.

You could have a bad sensor too, but check the cheap stuff first.

Try and reset the tire monitor that is on the passanger side off the brake handle.

If you have verified no leak, and pressure is within spec, +1 on doing this.

rbb,

I have had the same thing happen from time to time. I cannot explain why it happens, but it usually happens after spirited driving, but not always. Check the tire pressures to make sure that they are all within reason, then reset the sensor per the owners manual. It should fix things.

Mine comes on at random times usually about once every six months or so.

Good luck,
Mike

Mine started flashing yesterday. It's been almost 5 years since I saw that light (I have a 2003 MCS with 110Kmiles). :D

I recently had 4 new tires installed and have been driving around for about 2 weeks, and the light decided to come on now. I checked the tire pressures and they were fine... so another reset. I used to reset it almost every other week when I had runflat tires and one of them was leaking very slowly.

Check tire pressure

MINI's don't actually monitor tire pressure, they monitor tire rotation. That is why you are told in the manual to make sure all your tire pressures are correct before resetting the system. Once it is set it monitors the tire rotation, if one tire has a higher rotational speed to the others it is low on air (smaller diameter).
If it actually monitored tire pressure you would have totally different procedure to reset the system.

I dont think anyone was suggesting that the system actually measures the "actual" tire pressure, unless of course your post was a "did you know...." type information for others.
