I would be happy to read it, but have never joined and don't want to. No facebook for me. Maybe you can cut and paste it for the rest of the world.

Mini,

Out of curiosity what is the current status of the timing chain issue?
We are now seeing a decent amount of people out of the warrenty as well
as in the period having cold start timing chain issues. Some of them
...are also being forced to fork over and pay the repair bill due to the
fact that there cars are falling out of warranty. All of the forums
have been talking about this issue non stop. People are ditching there
cars intentionally due to the fact that the warranty time frame is
almost done. A petition has even been started for a recall. 88
signatures and going up almost daily!

I really doubt they will even acknowledge your question.

Their position seems to be a repair, if deemed
necessary by a dealer. There would be a recall already as
MINI has addressed this issue with a sevice bulletin.
I am interested to see if you get a reply.

Recalls are generally safety related, and the TC issue and all of its variants are not safety related. So despite your efforts to spark a recall, I seriously doubt it will happen.
