Updating thread.
Finally towed the car to professional mechanic.
So far it's not the key losing its program & found corrosion in fuse box.

Good luck....I'm kinda wondering if the accident was enough to blow the airbag, that the motor was destroyed internally..so it will not crank/start or some wiring got torn when the motor was shifted.
My mechanic's car was totaled out....hit the back of a truck...airbags did not get blown...but the engine/subframe was destroyed from the hit above the bumper.
Keep us updated.

Mr. Mechanic called today. Something about EWS is blown. No clue if I remembered that right. Looking for clues if anyone has any.
EWS- Driver Protection.
Something to do with module recognizing the key.

It's ALIVE! That EWS thing was replaced. Car found power to the starter after that but alternator was frozen from its sit. Took a chance with local supply. Lifetime limited warranty on Duralast $178 vs $800 OEM. So far so awsome.. .

Able to hear it run today. Awsome!! !
Here was the primary culprit.
Won't start after accident-ews1.jpg
Finalizing this no start issue. After the accident the EWS module fryed along with blowing the B+ battery cable. Sitting for extended period the alternator frozeup. The EWS module from what I understand so far controls security starting the car with the correct programed key.
This will be my last post for this thread.
I hope this may help someone.
If ever a question feel free to add to thread & i'll try to help out.

I know this was awhile ago but in the same boat with a 05 front damage with air bag deployed. Did you replace the B+ cable or wire past? My coop has power to fuse box under hood, minus engine fuses, but no juice to windows, sun roof, venting,or starter. Turn the key and dings but thats it, also radio works. Where is the other culprit live EWS and any way to check? Thanks

Thanks All!!!

That was it for my 02

I know this thread is old, but Thanks so much. Daughter bumped the back of her car and popped her right roof and seat airbags. Once I got the battery charged, it would turn over, but not start. The fuel cutoff button was right of the brake master cylinder. It is black with a rubber top. Just push it down. You will hear a click and then hopefully your car will start like mine just did.

Always hard to hear accident stories. Hopefully there is a lesson learned as I did. Mine was truly for better in MANY ways.

Did find the issue/s which did not come easy as yours.

Link to what I found.

2005 base no start after airbag deployment

I have a similar problem with a new to me 2005 5 spd base. Minor accident by PO deployed frt airbags. He drove it like that after daily for a month with no problems. Then one day he turned on the key and no power to anything, no dash lights except a dim glow on airbag light. Fully charged battery, good starter, good ground. Doesn't appear to have a BST just off the battery in the engine bay.
Searching for answers here for hours still not sure - can the airbag/inertia switch module under the emer brk kill power like this? TIA, Ron
