Header/Midpipe Break

Has anyone ever had the Flange that joins the header and mid-pipe just pop loose? Looks like all they did from the factory is heat the two ends and press them together and let them cool and that's how they are put together. Either way I had the exhaust shop weld it up. Hope this helps. Naturally it came loose on some curves in the mountians about an hour away from home lol.

Interesting, I just got back from a hard mountain run today and I now hear what sounds to be an exhaust leak. I have yet to do any inspection but will let you know what I find. Ironic that you posted this today. lol

Yep. After having it welded back, no problems for over a year.

Reviving this old thread...
Mine came apart this morning doing 70 on the highway. That's a really poor design.

That is so weird we were just talking about this over the weekend. Had to drive it across grandfather mountain in snow. Nearly 8 years later and it hasn't come back apart after having it welded up. Local exhaust shop should be able to get you fixed up.
