HPFP?
HPFP?
Does the HPFP problem only occur in the Mini Cooper S and not the regular Cooper? Do the two cars use the same fuel pump? I own a regular Cooper non S and was wondering if I should worry? I know the 335i HPFP are bad but not the 328i fuel pump which I own also. Just wondering if it is just turbo BMWs?
Thanks in advance

You dodged 2 bullets. If you had a 335i and an MCS, you'd have 2 cars with notoriously unreliable HFPFs. As it is, you're in the clear in both cases.
Why can't BMW/Mini get their act together on this problem? It's plagued the 335i/N54 motor since it was hatched in '07. WAY too long for this crap to be dragging on.

I did have a 07 335i lease and BMW bought it back for being a lemon. HPFP failed 6 times in 8 months. They said they would replace it with a 2008 335i, but I said no and took a loaded 328i instead and they gave me amazing low lease for the trouble.
I just bought the Mini Cooper for the wife. She and I wanted the S turbo, but I had a budget and I could not fine a R56 turbo in that price range. She loves it now since she was driving a 1989 325i. We got a used 1 owner 2007 Pepper white/Black roof with no options but automatic/hood stripes/fog lights. 31,000 miles for $13,000. Just had it serviced for some minor issues and oil change, plus warranty for another 18 months. So fingers crossed that this is a great car.
So no more turbo BMWs for me. Fun cars but it seems like to many issues. I know too many 335i friends with so many failed HPFP. From what I was told it was the high ethanol in our fuel.
Thanks for the info guys.
