Problem with my mini

Hey all,

I have a problem with my R56 Just a cooper.

As you most likely know cali was hit with a pretty big storm the last 2 weeks and it was freezing/alot of rain. I hadnt driven for about 3 weeks. When i fired it up it was doing great until i went to pick up my friend. The passenger door simply did not and will not open. I tried it both from the inside and outside (and yes it is unlocked ) tried it with the metal key unlocking and basically everything. Could this be from it being idle in the storm? What are my options besides going to a mini dealer? The Drivers door is fine just the passengers

You said freexing right? The door is probably frozen shut. Water frozen bewteen the door seal and the door. Solution? Warm it up?

Mine has frozen shut quite a few times, just gotta put the heat on full blast or get it in a garage for a while if you can. I can imagine the ice is pretty solid if if hasn't been driven in 3 weeks!

Sounds like you're talking about Glendale, CA. I live about 10 miles away from you in Sierra Madre, and while it's been wet and cold (relatively...remember we're talking Southern Cali here, not Minnesota), I don't think a frozen door is your problem. I'd say a trip to the dealer might be in order.

I think your MINI just doesn't like your friend.
