Engine revs when stopping
Engine revs when stopping
I looked through a ton of posts and didn't find this specific problem. I have a 4 week old 2009 MCS (auto). When I'm coming to a stop, just before I've completely stopped the engine revs a little bit. It doesn't lurch, it feels like it might but doesn't, just a bit of a rev. I don't even think the tach moves, but you can definitely fee it. Besides this problem the car also doesn't coast very well and seams to downshift whenever I let off the gas. Add these to the fact that it sounds like a diesel. Overall the engine is kinda weird so I don't know if it just me or something is wrong. It finally got warm enough around here to open the windows so I can hear every little gurgle now.
I'm gonna call the service guys later this week. Just thought I'd ask here first.

The engine revs while stopping is normal IMO. mine does the same thing, it is only the result of the auto downshifting and the engine ECU readusting the revs. If you are using the sports button this effect will be amplified. Just get used to it.
Yeah mine does it as well I compensate on the brake for it. When I'm in my folks cars I do it too but they're car doesn't rev. So it makes it look like I'm a bad driver.
My dealer said it was normal and nothing to worry about. So I'm not gonna worry.
