Another sunroof problem great! When sunroof panel is raised it squeaks everytime i hit a bump. Mini had it today to fix (oil change)and i go to leave and guess what it squeaks even worse. Guess what not only does it not work half the time but when it does it squeaks unless i open it all the way. Its funny since everytime i go for service i complain that it still a problem and they perform the same stupid service by claiming they adjusted it. My poor sunroof has been violated and lubed so many times its not funny. It not even the service departments fault because mini is to dumb to figure out a fix for the sunroof. I had moisture in my tailight i asked them to dry it out and they ended up replacing it, it wasnt even broken the seal wasnt tight thats it. Still the best car ive owned. Too bad mini is unable to fix obvious problems.
I had that problem with both my R53 MCS and my BMW X3 3.0i. I've noticed that this occurs alot with first year production vehicles made by BMW as both my cars were made in the first year of production.
Where is this rattle coming from, there are quite a few types of rattles that can be heard from the sunroof. There are even cases where the rear glass is creaking and the whole cassette must be replaced, some are as simple as the wind deflector rubbing on the glass while the sunroof is closed.
