Headlight sprayer

I just noticed... Mine fell off.

Now the little chrome moon shape on the drivers side is missing... Not too noticeable on a Jet Black Mini... In fact, even after it was missing I looked over it without seeing it a few times. Not sure how extensive the repairs will be or if the dealer on island will cover it under warranty since they were rather shady the last time I went there, claiming BMW Asia wouldn't honor BMW USA's warranty claims. I need to write them a letter.

Anyhow, anyone have this happen? Pics to follow tomorrow as I'm stuck at work today.

Happy new year! (I'm a day ahead, it's new years eve here)

P.S. There are 222 pages of threads in this sub-forum. Woot.

Did it snap off? like break in the plastic? Do you even run/use them? I pulled my washers out...useless...lol, but the covers cost about 30 bucks from the dealership and you can just lightly glue em in. Or if they snapped off the actually washer, you might be looking at the cost of a new washer....

Like I said, I'm at work right now, so no pics.

But it looks like a square with a hole to feed the water in the center, and little nubs to keep whatever attaches to it in line. So I think it's the whole 'head' of the sprayer underneath the cap. Not sure, when you use the sprayers they don't stick out so you can really look at them. They just pop out, spray, and pop back in. I'm sure this is going to be an interesting fix.

If I had to guess, it probably fell out a few weeks ago when I was on my way to work way early in the AM. That was the last time I used it.

The chrome cap snaps onto a black cap that snaps onto the actual washer and is held on by a couple of clips. I believe the actual jet is not part of this piece, IIRC... but not sure.

You can pull the arm out, then clamp a pair of vice-grips on the shaft inside the bonnet (lightly) to hold it out - then easier to inspect and repair.

I have both of the headlight washers and covers from my poor, departed '03 MCS, Wagnbat. If you want one, just let me know (belated Xmas present).
