I can't find what this combination of warning indicator lights mean in the manual. Comes on when I'm driving a little aggressively, but nothing too crazy, and stays on for about 5 mins or so and then shuts off. Anyone?

 

Red: Car believes brake fluid is low
Yellow: Hill-assist problem
otherwise: Brake pads worn

Page 120 of the 2007 manual I believe, although this is assuming the US 2007 manual and the Canadian may be different.

 

top off your brake fluid and you are good to go

for some reason the level switch on the r55/56 is located kinda high on the reservoir, so even tho your fluid is ok, when you take left turns and the fluid transfers to the right, the switch picks it up as low fluid.

So seeing as that I have to try this, what brake fluid do you guys recommend?

 

I too have the exact same issue. The warning lights come on when I'm leaving the garage at work and there's a bit of an incline. Which type of brake fluid did you end up getting as I need to do this asap. It's quite annoying.

 

It's still annoying me (aka I have yet to top up the brake fluid), but I would also like to know what brake fluid to use.

 

Check your owner's manual or talk to the parts desk at your dealer.

Do you get the dsc light with an ! after it in the display too? I'm getting the same assortment of lights coming on with more frequency. It started happening only when I stopped to reverse into my parking spot @ work, and until recently, it only happened at that time, and not even when I tried to replicate the maneuver elsewhere. They recently started coming on just while i'm driving, and then go off w/in a minute.

Do you guys still think it's just the brake fluid? Mine seems pretty full still.

 

An update to mine: Preliminary thoughts are a faulty wheel speed sensor, which they won't have til tuesday. We will see if that fixes the problem.
