Which 3rd Party Extended Warranty will cover CVT auto trans?

I have searched for whole forum and came up alot of threads that I still didn't find an answer.
I found warranty direct is the only one that will pay direct to the shop, but there are bad and good stories about warranty direct.
I am so confuse to find a 3rd party warranty company. Most of them will give u hard time to deal with.
Please! anyone with warranty direct.. I want to find out. thanks so much!

Do a search under "extended warranty" [words in quotes] to find threads that have discussed this over and over again.

AFAIK you are not going to find a company that sells service contracts [there is no such thing as "extended warranties" for sale] that will cover the MINI transmission.

You can waste your money and roll the dice, but as you will see from my posts, "extended warranties" [service contracts] are the biggest rip-off con job around.

You also might want to read all the complaints about Warranty Direct. If there is any devil to whom to sell your soul, that would be one of the main companies to do it with.

A CVT replacement is about a $6000 to $8000 job [most failed MINI CVTs are replaced and NOT repaired]. I do not know of any extended service contract company that is going to cover such a major repair. If the contract's language says the "transmission" is covered, you can bet the agreement includes fine print or technical jargon that gets them out of paying such a sizable claim. It's just the way things work. The company's goal is to collect as much in premium dollars as it can, while limiting the amount of money that goes out to pay claims.

I was just checking out the warranty direct website and there are some exclusions in the fine print to the transmission including the flywheel, clutch, and tubes etc. (?maybe). I did the free quote.

I don't know why a CVT transmission wouldn't be covered since there are no exclusions showing that. I say this as I am one of the head admin's for www.inds.com which owns Warrant Direct and we also administer a lot of other contracts for other companies from cars, boats,RV's,atv etc.

I have personally authorized replacement of these transmissions before so dont believe everything you read. We pay out A LOT of money per day and that's why we are still in business for as long as we have been b/c of the turn around on our policies. We do almost 30-50 claims per person a day and there are 20 of us in the east coast office and another 10 in the west coast office with an average claim cost of $600...Do the math of how much we average per day on pay outs.

There is always going to be unhappy customers with any company out there. What makes us look bad is when the independent shops who are selling our policies don't tell the customer all the things they need to know until its to late and out of our hands or they weren't listening or completely read the contract fully before signing it.
