Wheel problem

Hello,

Yesterday i got some 4 x 17'' cooper s rims. The problem is that the car goes to the right. the tire is 225/65/R17 and not 205/65/R17 as the manufacturer says. Could this be a problem ? Also the tire is 50% gone. It was on a BMW E30 form 1984.

Thaks.

I bet the tire is bad and at very high risk of blowing out at SPEED.

General rule of thumb is to change tire's even if there is tread left every 7 years. The rubber becomes very "brittle" from old age.

Well the tire is from 2005. Also the owner has done some burns with the car and you can imagine how the tire is. I will change them in 1 week hope everything will be ok.

Thanks for the answers.

Before you give up, do a side to side swap. If it now pulls to the left, it is definitely the tire. ( if they are not directional)

Sorry mate, posted wrong. The tire is 225/45/R17 not 65. Well what do you think i will have some power steering issues with this tires till i change them ? The tire is very wide and its an extra stress for the pump to make the wheels go right and left. A new pump here is 1200$, don’t want to spend that...
