Removing the dashboard airbag-warning sticker w/o making a mess...
Hey--I hope this is the right forum area for my question, my apologies if it isn't. I recently leased a 2008 MCSC that I'm totally in love with. In the interest of interior aesthetics, I'd like to remove the huge yellow sticker on the right side of the dashboard with the warning about the advanced airbags (I *assume* I can remove the sticker without breaking the lease agreement...right?), but it doesn't look like it's going to peel off very easily and I'm wary of creating an ugly mess if the sticker doesn't come off as one piece--I don't want to leave half of it behind on the dash. Any advice y'all can provide about the cleanest and most efficient way to remove the sticker would be very much appreciated...
In addition to the warnings on the sun visors, my 2008 MCSC came with an additional warning sticker that practically covers the entire right half of the dashboard.

Mine came off without a problem...just had to start pealing up one corner and then I slowly pulled it off. It was actually a pretty sturdy sticker, I never got the feeling that it was going to tear. Granted, this was on an '06, so "maybe" they changed the sticker a little bit.
Anyways, if it does tear, Goo Gone should do the trick.

I'd tried peeling it off from the right w/o success, but my friend who attacked it from the left last night was able to get it off with no residue or whatever. Unfortunately I neglected to take a pic of the sticker first so that Minidrivr could check it out. My bad--but thanks, everyone, for your help!
I'm the second owner of my '06 MCS JCW, December '06 build date.
Obtained the car last year and the airbag warning sticker on the dash was still there- about 3" x 4". Just got around to taking it off. The corner wouldn't peel up so I started with the the Goof Off 2 "Safe on plastic" it says. I pre-tested it in an inconspicuous area and it was fine. Went at the sticker slowly and the Goof Off wasn't doing anything
... but it did start to go after the plastic!
I quickly wiped it off. Crap!
Without the Goof Off I kept working my fingernail around the edges and eventually got it off in many pieces- what a pain.
But it left a line around the perimeter of where the sticker was- crap again!
I tried using Maguire's Fine Cut polishing compound, very lightly and gradually and it got rid of some of the marks. But even at that you have to be ultra careful because if you "polish" too hard it will scratch the surface. I finished with Maguire's 26 wax.
The result of my sticker removal could have been disasterous but ended up being just screwed up a little- not too noticeable. Careful out there!
