No Rust on 2002.......

I thought I would start a new post regarding this very popular thread because I didn't want my response to get buried, the previous thread was is already over 500 responses. I have a 2002 JCWS that I purchased new in July 2002 (converted to JCWS in 2003). After reading many of the posts regarding the rust conditions appearing in and around the door seals and rocker panels I immediately went to the garage to see what was going on with mine and much to my pleasent surprise there is not a hint of rust anywhere The reason I believe I have been so lucky is that I have always followed the same procedure when drying the car after washing. Each time I have washed my car I have always dried off the door and rocker panel seals plus I run a dry rag underneath the bottom door panel making sure everything is dry including those little drain plug inserts. ALso I completely dry off the entire inner door frame, hoses and hinges. After that I 'briskly' shut the door and open it again, you will always get a deposit of water dripping back onto your door sill at which point you will need to re-dry all the door and rocker panel seals again, the whole process takes less than a minute for each door. That's it! I was very pleasently surprised to see how clean and rust free mine was after reading all the stories in the previous post. Good luck

Good work. I use an air compressor to blow out those water holding areas. Im kinda lazy, so it works for me.
