Dead window, no warning

My passenger window is no longer going down when I tell it to. I checked the fuses and they seem fine. If the wiper motor has dies, what kind of money would I be up for to have it replaced out of warranty, and is it something I could do myself?

The motor is something like 80 bucks I think depending on who you get it from. As for replacing it, If you don't know what your doing. You can actually make it worse!! Find someone who knows what they are doing. Not that hard if you have the tools and know what you're doing.

give your door a wrap with you fist just above the speaker then try your window again, the brushes on the motor can get a little dirty

Hit the door panel between the speakers while holding the switch. Most of the time that will make them work.

Yep, whack that bad boy just above the speaker. Those motors are prone to a flat spot that does this.

I pounded on it pretty hard all around the speaker area and no joy. Desert quoted me $440 for the fix. I guess it's time to dust off that extended warranty.

+1 for the good thump. Worked on mine. Now if only my motor will behave and never do this again .

I wound up getting it replaced on the extended warranty. Had a bunch of other stuff covered as well (motor mount, front control arms...) with the warranty company coughing up over $1700 total.
