TPM Activated After Snow Fall

I am not sure if it is normal but we had our first snowfall today here in VA. I parked my MINI outside my office for around 7hrs. in the snow. When its time to get home, and I turned the car on, TPM came up and message says Low Tire Pressure in all 4 tires. I have only 3000miles on my car. So, I couldn't have lost pressure in all the tires at the same time. I drove with TPM on for about 20miles thinking that heated tires may increase the pressure of the air but that did not happen. Did this happen to anyone? What should be done?

Thanks for your feedback.

Hey I am in Virginia too and also had a problem with my mini today! (see my mini wont go in the cold) But this happened to me a little while back when it first got cold. I took it to the dealer thinking it had a flat tire ( I don't have nav to see which tire) They told me that there were no nails that when it gets cold the air pressure decreases and sets off the TPM. So they just pumped up the tires and reset the TPM. I would just pump them back up to the right level, then reset the TPM myself. (The instructions are in the manual although with Nav it might not be an option) Nothing too big to worry about though If you are close to a dealer and have the time, you could get them to do it also.

Thanks... I was thinking about the same but wanted to make sure. Who is your dealer? I got it from Sterling. Its only 5 miles from my work so I think I will take it to them. Prolly tomorrow.

The nav equipped MINIs do indeed have a reset feature for the TMPS. It's on the same nav screen that shows the car display indicating which tire is low/flat.

Weird about the snow/cold setting it off though. Looks like MINI might have to provide a fix for that.

I got my mini from Crown Mini in Richmond. It's only 2 miles from my house so I'm going to stop by there tomorrow. Happy Mini Dealer Visit Day

Same here, a week ago. First snow, all tires at 27-28psi (33psi rec).
Quite the difference in winter handling after I threw more air in. For the better

Mine did the same thing.. dug out my $10.00 Chinese air compressor and inflated all the tires with 3 additional psi to bring them to 33 psi.

Since the compressor didn't have any power without the car running, I actually heard the TPSM bong when it had the right amount of tire pressure in the last tire i filled up. Interesting.
