Is Something Wrong With My Lock?

It appears that the driveside lock is cut down on one side... also, when the doors are locked, it sticks out way more than the passenger side. Take a look.

I dont know if its worth taking to the dealer on its own, i may just wait till i have more problems that need to be addressed before i actually drop it off

The button doesn't look quite right. I'd get them to check it out / replace at your service interval.

yeah i agree, you want your MINI to be perfect first of all, second, it could be the beginning to something bigger(what i have no idea, spontaneous clown combustion?) so have it checked out.

well the shaft that you see looks pretty easy to replace, just plastic stuck on to a metal rod. Good luck!

out of curiosity, when locks are in upright position, have you tried to rotate them, (if indeed they are just plastic caps on a metal rod)?

aren't you the one who had the windows tinted and noticed they had damaged your door panel and window. is this problem a result of them replacing the panel or window?

Yeah thats me but they havent swapped the window yet. Plus, I know it was like this before i had the windows tinted the first time.

ive tried unscrewing it but it wont budge... either im not trying hard enough or its just not meant to come off like that. Maybe if someone that has opened up the door panel, or has a technical drawing of the door assembly we could get a better conclusion.

I only have a mental image of the inside of the door panel in my head from when we had to replace the window motor and assembly, but i'll try to find something.
