I like the feature as well. The mirrors don't point straight down but enough to see the ground/curb on either side of the car. Like the greater visibility my back-up camera gives me.

I can see the parking line painted on the pavement and makes parking very easy when backing up.

I use it not so much to see the parking space lines.... but to get as close to the curb as possible. Again, this has bee a HUGE help driving in NYC and Westchester where those granite curbs will DESTROY a rim. I'm sure it's a computer setting that some resourceful soul will figure out.

^^Exact same, especially when parallel parking (something I have to do just about everyday) it's of huge assistance. Little trick my driving instructor taught me before the test; here in PA, fail parallel parking and no license for you! Hitting the curb with significant force is enough to warrant a failure.
I'm a lot more careful since installing my Rota's. Curbed wheels can be impossible to repair and create quite an eyesore IMO.

Maybe I'm just reading this one wrong but isn't this already the way it is? Ok, the sunroof only tilts open, not fully opens is the only thing I can think of that doesn't happen on my car when I hold the unlock down on the fob.

No. The 2007 models do NOT open or close windows / sunroof when holding key FOB. You have to hold the little black button on the door handle to accomplish this. And, this is Item #4 already on the list.

Eek. Then either my car's broken, or I'm remembering incorrectly. It'll open the windows and sunroof if you hold the unlock button (either fob or door), but won't shut them. Although that is what #4 does seem to say...

I would just like the damn electronics to do what they are supposed to. Regardless of my settings (and what the manual says) my car does what it feels like with radio, door locks, nav screen, temperature warning, cd player, bluetooth, hatch release, seat heaters......

YES!!! You are correct. I forgot, the key FOB DOES open the windows and sunroof, but it doesn't close them. I always forget that.

You're mistaken on that one. My car does that. It opens the windows and tilts both sunroofs if I hold down the unlock button on the fob. I have the convienence package if it makes a difference. I can do the same holding the black button on either door handle as well.

There are 2 ways to raise the windows and close the sunroof while outside the car. One is to use the hidden key in the key slot and holding it to lock, or holding the black button down on either door with the car unlocked and windows down/sunroof open.

I have a week 34 build.

Edit, nevermind Birdman, I see you responded to another about this as I was posting this.

Well, half correct anyways- I checked again yesterday and (as already mentioned) the sunroofs only tilt instead of opening all the way.

why is that good?

it should remember where it was last played in case you have one track that is mixed set of music. who wants that to start all over again? dumbest feature ever. old ipod adapter in previous r gen did that.

So if you stop at the coffe shop for a minute, it will continue where left off, but if you park for the evening, the next morning you start at beginning. That's how that should be.

Why would you have "1 track of a mixed set of music"??? THAT is the problem. Fix THAT, not the mini software.

Has anyone herd from MINI regarding ANY of these updates????

This thread is an absolute GOLDMINE for mini if you ask me!! If they don't act on it, or at least respond in some way, they are a defunct company. I hope differently.

Since the Hi-Fi system is mostly controlled by a GUI (Graphical User Interface), I think they should add midrange control to the radio/CD player! Separate bass and treble are nice but sometimes the midrange is unbelievably out of balance! No, it's not the radio station or CD, I've tested it numerous times. :D

Gauges??

How about displaying analog style gauges in the NAV window. You can have boost, water, oil, voltage . . .all that stuff that's good for driver geeks and another reason to spend the money for the lame NAV system.

The main reason I got the NAV was because I could actually read the radio station labels.

Bump on the NAV fixes. If it's Windows CE, maybe I can get the Navigon software to run. It took me 5 minutes to find a gas station with the NAV this morning. The NAV displays on the VDO site (and even in the Mini Manual) are clearly much better than what we have now. Can't even get the street names in perspective mode. What is this, state of the art 1997? And what is with the arrows for traffic? Does Google have a patent on green and red lines?

It is actually kind of embarrassing. Mini should be like the Apple of cars. Instead it's more like Vista without the hardware drivers.

I keep asking my SA about a software update and even mentioned this thread if he wants ideas to report to HQ.

More than anything i want window control, auto up and down, and key fob up and down and door button up and down, and window go all the way up after moving slightly down after opening. I have started using the door button to raise the windows up just slightly.

GREAT idea with displaying the analog style gauges for info (oil/water Temp, boost, voltage)!! AWESOME idea!! I'll add that to the list!

I highlighted and underlined the best part above. You hit the nail on the head, it is embarrasing!! If I worked for MINI/BMW in ANY capacity, I would be extremely embarrassed over this nav software, and would be in everybody's face about it until it was FIXED!!

Didn't the auto industry can the window auto up feature many years back due to safety issues? As I recall there was the theoretical potential for a child or animal to have their head out the window and if the auto up feature was invoked they could either be choked to death or worse. I don't think we will ever see auto window up feature from any large auto manuf.
