i had that strap fall off, and for a while, the exhaust was bouncing off the floor while i was driving

i went to a muffler shop and had them weld the side to the existing steel bar, all better for $10

New Bracket Needed

Apparently condensation on only one side of the muffler causes it to hang. I had it replaced under warranty, but they overlooked it the day before when they were doing the brakes.

That's the reason that I don't trust my dealership. Get a new bracket from the parts Department, and have a local mechanic put it on, or have MINI do it for you. Good luck and peace.
