Clutch Fork

My clutch had been making a rubbing noise and feeling like rubber on rubber for a while. Slowly the engagement point started getting closer and closer to the floor. One day, the clutch would not disengage. It would only half way disengage causing the car to creep with the clutch all the way down...and obviously would not go into gear. After dropping the tranny, I found that the release bearing had separated from the pressure plate. The center of the pressure plate that connects to the release bearing was sheared away on half of it. Upon inspecting it, the fork that operates the clutch is bent on one side. I think this caused inconsistent pressure on different sides of the bearing causing the rubbing sound and feeling. I think it is also what caused the bearing to separate.

Now, I need help. I refuse to replace the transmission because of a bent fork! The dealerships say that they do not sell that part separately on the midlands trannys, only on the getrags...

Does anyone know where the hell I can find this part? I know there are a LOT of damaged midlands trannys out there, since they all seem to break sooner or later. I just need the fork and shaft that operates the clutch.

I'll post pictures tomorrow if I can.

Are you sure about the bearing, it is connected to the arm, not the plate. It sounds like a slave cylinder to me, but I have not seen what you have.

It is definately not the slave cylinder. I changed it already thinking it was that. I did not take the clutch apart myself, so I did not see how it was assembled. The bearing was separated and the center of the pressure plate was sheared off. Regardless, the bearing separated from where it is supposed to be, the forks are bent, and the center of the pressure plate is half sheared off. I do know that the bearing goes along the shaft which goes through the hole in the pressure plate. That is where the damage was. I'll post pictures if I can.

hmmm. thanks!

I'm pretty sure that the dealership parts guy was lying to me. The part is connected to the bell housing right?
