Just got an email from MINI USA announcing the "MINI Takes the States" rally across the US. It is in late August/early September and will be making stops in Memphis, Nashville, St Louis in our area.

I'm interested in taking part on at least one leg of the trip in our area.

Anyone else interested?

 

I got excited when I saw the email then I realized other than stopping in TN the drive is totally ignoring the entire Southeast so nah I am not gonna do it. I hope whoever does join in will take pics & share them.

 

I've been doing a similar drive every spring since 2003...an eerily similar drive!

I am very tempted to do this.....it's a great route!

 

We live in Effingham, IL (which is half-way between STL and INDY on I-70)so we will definitely participate. It's already marked on the calendar

I plan on coming down and doing the leg from St. Louis to Indy.

 

I saw a thread on the Chicago MINI Club that said the tenative plans in StL involve a tailgate party near Busch and an aerial photo near the Arch. In Indy, they are trying to set up a lap the the Speedway. I was not sure if I would do the Nashville-St L leg or the StL-Indy, but now I think I'll go to Indy.

 

I need more info on this across the usa as I will be traveling during that time of the year and would like to join in if I could. I need to know a contact.

How many of you are going to try to get tickets for the baseball game that we're doing the tailgate for Tues. Aug 29 @7:10pm?

 

Mr Sun has tentatively signup for the STL to Indy leg

 

We're signed up for the St Louis-Indy run.

 

This has been added to the STLMINI.com calendar for the days St. Louis is on the schedule. (Aug. 29-30)

 

I am still having problems getting onto MINIUSA with my computer. So I still do not know what is going on. My plan is to stop at the dealer on Tuesday & see how we as a Club can participate. In the meantime, any thoughts as to why I can't get MINIUSA & yes my pop up blockers are turned off

I had a problem like that once before and found out that a previous attempt with the pop-up blockers on had created a cookie that still would not allow the website to display even after the pop-up blocker was turned off. You might try to delete your cookies and see if that helps.

 

Thanks, Mike but it didn't work I finally got on with another computer in the house. Looks like a tailgate party is planned for the 29th before the Cards game. I signed up so hopefully we will get more info from MINIUSA. In the meantime I will stop at the dealers tomorrow before the Happy Hour & see what I can find out.

I'm stickying this thread. I'm still waiting to hear more info from the dealer. My suggestion is to sign up & register for the St Louis leg. Even if you don't plan to drive any part of eith leg , it should get your foot in the door for the tailgate party

I want to encourage everyone to sign up for the event in St Louis on August 29. You can do this on www.minitakesthestates.com A baseball rallye is planned that night in & around the Westin Hotel by Busch Stadium. Welcome packets with wrist IDs will be sent to all who sign up. BUT YOU MUST SIGN UP!!!!!! Live music, food, beer,soft drinks, jumbo tron TVs & other surprises are planned.
