As I was about to leave today I saw one of my tires was flat
There is a screw right in the middle of the tread that seems to have caused the problem.

Do any of the StLMini folk have any recommendations for a good runflat repair shop? (Hopefully it can be repaired )

You cannot repair a runflat that has gone all the way down. Extremely dangerous to do that. You really need to buy a new tire. Sorry about the bad news.

Try calling any Goodyear Tire place in your area (sometimes referred to as Gemini Auto Centers). They have the right equipment to replace/repair runflat tires...they see lots of Corvettes with runflats, so they have runflat experience. But Teampajn is probably right...some places won't repair a runflat. Good luck.

I suppose that's because the sidewall has been compromised/weakened and may fail upon re-inflation? Can I good tire shop evaluate the tire's condition safely? :???:

I had a slow leak in one of mine, brought it to a Goodyear joint and they repaired it, no questions asked.

If you do need to replace it I have a pair of 16'' OEM tires that are near new (70 miles) for sales.

Thanks for the offer! But I'm now considering replacing all the runflats with regular tires. Cheers.

This is very true. If you have a slow leak and don't let the tire go flat it can be repaired. This is the only time a runflat can be fixed. As olfioliti said the sidewall has become weekened and does not perform it's task come down the road when you do have a flat.

Well, the household budget manager did not approve of my request to replace all the tires with non-runflats. I called our local MINI dealer and the very nice gentleman at the service center said that if the tire went soft while just sitting in the garage then it should be fine to have it repaired. He offered "you probably don't want the work done here ($$$) ... most people take the tires to Dobbs." So, I took it to Dobbs and they repaired it for $49. The really nice manager there said that "they could determine if the tire should not be used again".
