'Missouri Southern Road Rallye', October 16th (FINAL UPDATE 10/13)
The Second Annual Missouri Southern Road Rallye
When: Saturday, October 16th
We're under 3 weeks away from this great event, and it's definitely not the one to miss! We may be one week late on the colors, as we noticed this weekend, the trees are starting to change down south. The roads have now been driven, and the path is being finalized (I'm trying to balance the twistys and the straights!). It's looking like the final destination will be Council Bluffs Recreation Area in the Mark Twain National Forest (south of Potosi). We’ll enjoy lunch and the sites, and when we grow restless of sitting still, head back along a similarly enjoyable, yet different, route. So without further adieu, here are the nitty-gritty details:
What: As developed last year, this is the closing rallye event to the St. Louis MINI Club's driving season! This year's event will follow approximately 30% of last year's greatest roads, augmented by approximately 70% new roads!
Where: St. Louis, Missouri
Starts at: The Home Depot at Watson & Lindbergh (Same Place as last year)
Starts When: 9:00AM
General Information:
So that I can have a headcount for raffle items and giveaways, and info/map packets, I need everyone that plans on attending to send an RSVP to stlminievents@sbcglobal.net. If you have already done this, or are listed on this event thread, I don't need you to do this again. So that I can get things arranged properly, I need to have the RSVP in 'hand' by October 4th at 5:00PM. All are welcome, but I can only have giveaways and raffle items for those that I know are coming. Even if you don't send an RSVP, come on down, the drive itself will be worth it!
Route Information:
A modification over last years route: The Event will start at the same location (Home Depot), but The route will START from St. Louis, namely Hwy. 141 and Meramec Station Road.
Generally, the route will be from St. Louis, south to the Potosi Area. Then a return from the Potosi Area north and East back to the St. Louis Area. Full route details will be distributed at the event.
Items to Bring:
A camera (can you have a MINI event without one?), area road map (optional, route maps and directions will be furnished), picnic lunch, and beverages. Anti-nausea pills for the navigator may be desirable; these roads can cause motion sickness!!! For those that have them, FRS radios might be a good idea.

If so I will probally bring my 14 years old daugher Chelsea, and save my marriage Any advise please let me know, other then the Winery cruise this my first cruise. Larry

Our new car will be on this side of the pond Oct 1st. So we should not have any problem in having our car in time. We are not members but what better way to break in the new car then meet more MINI maniacs. We will already be driving for several hours before we get there, but we wouldn't miss it. We will be going on an all day drive with the local MINI club the next day. We're going to have a long weekend in the car, but I don't mind it in a MINI. Count us in........Patrick + 1.
