On the garage floor today, in the area directly under the driver's half of the motor.

Looks like windshield wiper fluid? Did you fill it up recently? Check the cap. Or maybe it's got a leak in the reservoir.

It has a coolant feel to it. You know, that somewhat tacky feeling between your fingers after it begins to dry.

I suspect the thermostat gasket.

Still under factory warrantee. Does MINI of STL give a MINI loaner when they are fixing ours?

Yes, they do. Be sure to tell them you need a loaner. Sometimes they send you down to Enterprise if they are out of loaners, however.

Gosh, I have a 1:30 PM appointment to get the leaking thermostat tended to. Told it takes 1.5 hours, so I will wait (sleep). I work midnights the night before, and the "social" is later that night. I have to make it to that!

I will be drag'n a bit, but I will be there!

I had a spot like that on my driveway. Turns out my 2006 MSC with less than 11,000 miles had a leak at the thermostat. Got it fixed under warranty with no problems. Before taking it in I searched here and it seams like a known problem. I just hope it does not happen in the future when I am out of warranty.

Well, I got the beast with that nasty drip FIXED!

Talking to the guys at Mini of STL and learned that they had six thermostat repairs scheduled for the same day.

Great shop and wonderful people there.

BTW, I checked on the cold air intake that Doug mentioned to me. $200
