Since the start point is a little bit of a drive south of St Louis and the route goes south from there, we've made a run that is around 2.5 hours. We understand that once you drive from the St Louis area (or farther) to the start point, run the route, then possibly drive back north in one day that's a lot of driving.
At this time, we have one stop planned during the run. We are still in the process of finalizing the plans and the route may change some before the day of the rallye, as well as the final location plans.

We Can't Wait
This should be a lot of fun, I know Mike and Jean have been planing this for a long time, let's have a good turn out and show the folks in southern Missouri that we don't drive lawn mowers as we accused of once down south.

Cheers,
It's not THAT far south

But a few years ago some of us visited Mike & Jene down there in Dexter
& I think they referred to us as driving cotton gins
And, thanks Mike, for being patient with the powers that be & finally getting a chance to do the run we had tried to do last Spring.

Excuse me but my keyboard has a kremlin hiding somewhere. Starting location for the Fall Drive: 1NOV08, 10AM, Buchheits Farm Supply Store, 1011 S. Hwy 51, Perryville, MO This is exit 129 on I-55. Destination: RiverRidge Winery, 850 County Rd 321 Commerce, MO They do have a website for more information on their winery. So, mark your calenders, check your oil, air up the tires and wash the bugs off the windshield for a super day in southern Missouri. Event Hosts: Michael & Jean McGill. Let's Motor, Dan
Bump-Perhaps someone should sticky this thread
If anyone is interested, I checked the mileage and it's about 75 miles from Kirkwood. About a 1 1/2 hour trip if you go the speed limit
See you all there. We may be bringing a surprise

St. Louis Post Dispatch, front page headline, "St. Louis area policeman dies in an auto accident returning from a winery in Commerce, Missouri"

I would be fine, I am just "fun'n ya!"
Can't make it, as Mike said, same weekend as the BMW track day. I'll be working with the BMW/Porsche/Audi clubs over the winter to get their schedules to us early so we can avoid event conflicts like this next year.
If it's a nice day
I was thinking about driving straight to the winery from home and meeting everyone there, but by looking at the map there doesn't seem to be any way to get across the river
. Does anyone know if there is a bridge off of Route 3 on the Illinois side into Cape Girardeau? Google is showing me to go all the way to Sikeston and then North.
