Snow!

Who has made special plans to drive extra over the next 48 hours, just to enjoy your MINI in the snow? I got a small taste of the snow in Dec, so I can't wait for it later today!

Sorry, I must be getting old. I drive my 4X4 truck when it snows. The MINI stays home. Too many other people who have no clue how to drive in the snow. Of course there is a plow on the front of the truck too.

I will take both of my cars out in the snow. Although if we get the 8 inches as predicted the Classic will have to stay home. The front bumper acts as a snow plow with more than 4 inches.

My garage is down an alley, so obviously it isn't plowed. I had to stop and dig out twice this morning. I figured when the snow started mounding up and coming over the bonnet I had better stop. But once it got moving it pulled through. The roads are a little rough, but I had no problems.

And it always makes me feel better when the MINI is the first car on the parking lot. Everyone else that drives SUV haven't made it to work yet. They just get to park over my donuts.

It snowed Oh, thats why everyone was going out getting bread, milk, and eggs. Where I'm from if it looks like we may get snowed in for a few days we go get beer and rent movies

This is snow, and once I got it off the car, away I went, just me and the snow plows, and the 4x4s stuck in the ditches

This kinda happened to me as I tried to pull into my driveway (not shoveled) this evening. I had to dig out from under the front bumper and around the wheels. Everywhere else around town was fine.

Next time I'll know better than to plow into a driveway with 8" of snow on it. Duh.

I get enough melted snow in the garage with the Land Rovers, hate to see what the MINI drug in if driven in deep snow. I came from work yesterday and Crocker flooded the garage from one end to the other and it wasn't deep out. I rather drive the Rover, do not have to slow down in deep snow. Hence, my decal ( Jeep Rescue Vehicle ) on rear window.

Lotsie... Lovin the steelies....

I had a bunch of snow smashed up in front of the oil cooler... It was either the mini or the e30.. and the mini keeps me from doing crazy donuts in parking lots like I would in the e30..

Coming home from Work on 2/1 at 7AM, the roads were terrible in Town and Country. The roads only got worst as I went south on 141. I didn't think it was going to be this bad. Oh well, Mona II made it through just fine no hang ups at all

The snow downtown has been pretty much removed except for behind my building where my parking garage exits. It also doesn't help that the idiots who own the parking lot across the street plowed their entire lot-full of snow onto the street.

Lotsie - love your picts... What tires are you using for the winter?

BlueBelle saw her first snow last Sunday. She spun past a car in the ditch but needed a little help up the last large hill.

Here are a few of my picts.

A few more in my gallery.

I'm glad we don't have the snow very often here. It is really pretty though!!

When I lived where there was real winter I ran Pirelli snow controls on 15" steel rims.

Now I run these year round;

I'm very happy with them

As winter approached, I ditched my awful run-flats, and shod my 17" wheels with LM-25 Blizzaks courtesy of Alex at Tire Rack. They're the best snows I've ever had and handle in the dry like all season radials. Chicago winters are tough. The deeper the snow, the more fun we have!

I've got some new wheels and summer rubber on the way for spring. As for the run-flats, they went into the trash where they belonged.

The all season run flats do just fine in STL snow......we only get it 3-4 times a year. How did everyone do in that foot of snow last week?

Well I was the most depressed person ever.. So pretty bad...

After an all day 8hr detail/wax on SUN... And seeing the snow fall on it not even 2 days later.... I think you get the idea...

I flew back from California to find my car (of course, on the roof of the parking garage across from the airport) parked in with three foot high drifts on either side, and unable to see the bonnet or roof. After bribing a valet to help me dig it out, and getting stuck a couple of times just trying to get off that damn roof, I swear, I will never park on the roof again. They plowed up these 4 foot high ice walls behind all the cars, it was nuts. Everyone was stuck (but I got to the valet guy first!) but I guess that's punishment for going to Cali in the winter
