Welcome Evansville Mini Owners!

Welcome Evansville Mini Owners!
Attention all owners from Evansville and the surrounding Southwestern Indiana area. We now have a motoring club! This is our official forum to discuss all club business.
If you enjoy motoring around on the weekends with fellow car enthusiasts, this club is for you!
As you see, this club is just getting started. I've got a quick website posted at http://www.siMINImc.com. As stated on that site, for now I'm planning on tagging along with the local Miata club (Squadron-MX5) during their monthly summer drives. It's a great time and a great group of people. They try to pick nice twisty 2-lanes with a interesting place to stop for lunch. If we start outnumbering the Miatas, we'll split off and plan our own drives.
It would be great to get a group to head over to Mini Takes the States or Mini's on the Dragon sometime as well and hook up with the Indy group when they get down to this part of the state.
I'll post up the summer drive schedule as I get it from my friends at Squadron MX5. For now, just reply and make yourself known. I know you are out there, I'm seeing more and more in town lately. Don't forget to wave!
Anyway, welcome again.
-Chris

Hi, I am from Evansville! I dont live there anymore but when I go home to visit I do see lots of MINIs so your group should grow fast. I usually go home for the Fall Festival (October in Evansville is SO awesome, it should be a destination trip for other MINI clubs ) and will try to remember to look for your events when I am home.
If you go to the Dragon, I will be there and would love to meet fellow Hoosiers!

I just moved back to Henderson from Arkansas and want to know about any MINI mechanics in the area. Is there anyone, anywhere in particular you guys go to for ANY type of work. Not worried about oil changes and brakes - I can do that. I have had clutch slave cylinder probs in the past and am just getting a heads up on mechanics in the area.

2010 Chili Red S since May
I picked up a sweet Chili Red 2010 S demo with lot's of
comfort features in May . Dryer & Reinbold threw in some JCW 17in Challenge
spoke wheels & Dunlop Run Flat tires_ride rough but great on
ramps & curves.
Dropped in a KN air filter & changed oil this weekend_different way to hold the filter but quick & easy.
Just hardwired Passport x50 to the moon roof control panel_looks clean &
used the parts from Escort.
Putting some brighter Fog light bulbs in before Oct gets here.
I met Bill Caudill at the new Marathon @ Morgan/OakHill back in Aug and he told me about this group.
Looking forward to exchanging ideas and weekend drives.
Ideas to try:
I would definitley schedule a trip to Louaville the THUR or FRI before Derby
as all the celebs are there.
Trip to Mid-Ohio Raceway to see the supercharged R53's blow by the Vettes, BMW's, and everything but the lone Lotus Elise....

Idea to meet at Fall Festival-How bout a MINI cruise in the parade
Bethel Temple booth Monday afternoon and I read your post. Then it came to me:
How about discussing getting the local MINI Cooper club members+owners
to drive their MINI's in the parade !!! BAM_it could work especially
f they're short of other vehicles. Maybe not this year but next..
We could dress you as a smurfette and put you in a Blue Convertible.
Anybody got a BL Convert they would want to drive in the parate?

Welcome KLOIN! We are now officially 3.5 members strong!
There is a Drive this Sunday with the Miata club. I just posted the details: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...sept-19-a.html
And there is a drive on the following weekend through Bourbon Country with the Indy club. Details: http://www.siMINImc.com
I'll keep an eye out for another Chili Red.
Fall fest parade=YES. We'll have to work on that for next year. Hopefully we'll have lots of members then!

I usually do the Fall Festival and the Evansville, Henderson, Owensboro and Madisonville Christmas parades hauling the newspeople from Channel 25 in my Pontiac convertible. I haven't heard anything from them yet this year, so I may be available for parade duty with my '04 Indi Blue MC.
Ain't nuthin' cuter than a group of MINI's in a parade!

We went to the Fall Festival yesterday evening. Had a yummy dinner and then checked out the games. Saw someone carrying around a stuffed Smurfette so of course I had to look for the game to win her. She was at the quarter pusher game and would have been just about impossible (and very expensive) to win. But wouldnt you know it, there was a little orange MINI Cabrio as a small prize. Finally got her after about an hour of fun trying. The attendant was very nice and helpful once he found out that I had a MINI.
Hope everyone else is having a great festival week and enjoying the absolutely gorgeous weather!

I'll look for a red Cube and wave back
Yes the quarter pusher game is a real expensive game and frustrating.
Congrats on winning the little orange MINI Cabrio.
I'll keep my eye's open for a Smurfette in a Cube heading North.
Sunny Skies and open roads !

WOW!!! I am so happy there is a motoring club here in E-ville!!!
I wanted to introduce myself to anyone everyone from the area. I am Andrew!! I am moving back to Southern Indiana after being away for about 10 years. I have been an active member of the MiNi community since I fell in love with my first one in 2004. I am now on my third MINI and still loving every minute of it. I have been a member of the DMC of Arizona and SSM of Florida. I am hoping to become and active member in the MINI group here in Indiana as well! You never know... some of us may have met at AMVIV or MTTS / MITM over the last several years.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you at future events!
