Eddie, where are you located? If you're in San Diego, Brecht is the only MINI dealership in San Diego County, but some folks take their MINIs to Irvine MINI in Orange County.

I bought mine at Irvine Mini because, at the time, I wasn't impressed with Brecht's service or selection. I've now been to Brecht twice with outstanding service.

That is great to read that Brecht has improved their service. I think all of the MINI dealerships figured out that they had to split off their MINI service departments from the BMW side, and provide us with proper and good service. That's what my dealership, (Long Beach MINI), did and now their service is top notch.

I have to agree Brecht has really taken it up a notch. I was there for service about a month ago and there were awesome

If it is not for a warranty repair (like installing a 15% pulley) I have had good luck with Baron's off Miramar rd The owner Dave and at least one of his mechanics are mini owners as well so they know how to work on these cars

Clo is correct. Brecht is still the only show in town, so to speak. They have a new service center, with many more lifts, and many more service techs. So far they seem to be trying to improve. Most of the people from my club are reserving judgement, for now, to see if they really DO improve.

Some people have nothing good to say about Brecht, others have nothing bad to say. One thing we have noticed... those with a true British accent always seem to get treated well.

My visit to the new Brecht service center went okay last month. I was in for an oil service and Inspection 1. The only problems were that they kept my car overnight. I have no idea how those services could require an overnight stay when I had an appointment and dropped my car off at 8 a.m. as scheduled.

And, a customer service problem: I had to call them to find out my car was spending the night. Good thing I didn't assume it was going to be ready and drive up from Solana Beach for no reason.

At least it was free (my last free service), and they paid for an Enterprise rental.
