Assael MINI no longer give loaner

I am at the dealer right now getting my MCS service and Assael MINI told me that they no longer.

This is totally F__k, I don't remember getting any thing from the MINIUSA stating that loaner no longer available. Asseal said that we have to pay it ourselves.

Just wanted to know if other dealer are also stop giving a loaner to their customer.

Loaners are not part of MINI USA policy - it is dependant on individual dealerships; some dealerships will offer a loaner but generally only if you bought your car from them; other dealerships have never done loaners (this is one criticism of the otherwise excellent MINI Peabody).

Its a dealership to dealership thing. Never had an issue with loaners whether or not I purchased the car there with the BMW. Then I get the Mini and find out, to my surprise, that the local dealer who does offer BMW owners loaners does not have anything for Mini folk. Nice.

Hey Bar10girl, this is my last visit to Assael and from now on I am willing to drive to Long beach MINI for all my service. Just think that I got two MINI's from them. They can just kiss my XXXX good bye.

Yeah, Assael blows. I bypassed them when I bought my BMW, because I caught a bad vibe from them. When I was looking at MINIs I couldn't get over the mark-up they wanted to charge. A couple of the sales guys I met were cool, but I could tell that management really wanted to squeeze every dime from me that they could.

LB would be a better place to go...but it's difficult to get an appointment (which is a good sign). I decided to try South Bay a week ago, and they approved a new clutch and flywheel under warranty. They gave me a loaner for the week they took to get my car done. I'm really happy with the work they did on my clutch, but they left a vacuum line off my intake, and broke a piece off my ECU...without telling me.

My guess is that they had someone good do the clutch and let the monkeys do the easy stuff. Unfortunately, now I have to deal with all of this other stuff.

AC, did you book this appointment in advance? Sometimes dealerships will also let you book a free loaner at the same time. Nick Alexander offered this option to me last year when I took Wanda there for Maintenance I. Of course, I paid to upgrade it to a better vehicle, but I was pleased at the offer. Sorry about your troubles!

I prefer Long Beach MINI's service department and LOVE their sales team!

Another sad news about Assael

Dealer told me that my brake/clutch connector is damage cause by floglight wire. Part cost $9.97 but labor is $ 350.00

What are they thinking. part cost only $ 9.97 and labor is over $350.00. Also because I installed the floglight myself, they said I damage the connector and I will have to pay to get it fix.

I don't think this is a big job for me to do it myself to save $350.00 but they said I had drilled and damage to connector, I never use any drill to installed the wire inside the car.

Have anyone ever replace the brake/clutch connector before. Please help with info Thanks

DO NOT TRUST ASSAEL!

I told you what they did to me - now I go to Bob Smith MINI in Calabasas, NEVER had anything but nice nice nice experiences there. They truly care about you & your MINI. Nichole at the MINI service desk is totally groovy.

Screw me once, shame on you.
Screw me twice, it must be Assael.

I made another post about Assael under MINI Talk, but Assael also marks up all parts by 100%. They quoted me $20 for some glue that costs $12 everywhere else. MCS Side Skirts that cost anywhere from $50 to $70 at other dealers which is list, sells for $100!!! Give me a break. Do NOT support them at all!

Sorry if I could explain or describemore detail about the part. Which is brake/clutch connector that cost $9.97. This is the pic of the unit that will cost $350.00 to install. A black plastic connector.

AC,

Which part # in that diagram is broken? 12?

Do you know where it routes to? From the sounds of it, it would be worth getting a Bentley manual and doing this as a weekend DIY. I have done some car electrical work in the past, so if you'd like to go that route, let me know and I may be able to help.

I order the part already and it will be here in 3 days and see if I can't try to replace myself or pay someone to do it. I would love to have you look at it if you have time. Thank for the offer

Well I've got a Bentley Manual, jack stands, and probably all the tools necessary.

Maybe we should all hook up this weekend?

I wonder if we could try to fix my broken passenger window mechanism. It doesn't work at all; doesn't even dip when you open/close the door.

I have quite a few tools too. In this case, I'm guessing it's more of a question of access than anything. Hopefully that part isn't too buried.

Clo,
I had that same problem a few months ago. LB MINI put in a new motor on the passenger side.

Of course, this was with about 20 miles left on the warranty.
I'm sh*t out of luck now at +66K.

Actually, I think you have the better layout (my garage is pretty dark) and my tools are totally portable (mostly because I assembled 3/4 of the stuff for servicing my mountain bikes).
