Well if you can get the part by this weekend, I can be available either day--maybe pending on Dave's schedule.

OOOPs, my bad. Sorry guys, somehow I missed these posts. My email has been kinda flakey lately. AC let me know if you'd like to wait until Dave feels better and reschedule or attempt to do it ourselves. It's your call, but personally, I would wait if that's an option until Dave feels better!
Let me know
Richard

Who to believe? The Service advisor or the Technician?
Hey guys, here a new problems. I just picked up my part from the Assael auto part (Very bad place and I will not recommend it to anyone)
, which they had order for me because according to them I had damage it while installing my fog lights. I tried to explain to them that I was not even close to the part they claim I damage it. Anyway they said the damage part will not be cover because I installed it myself and it wasn’t a factory fog lights. They told me that the part will cost $9.97 and the labor is $350.00
I told them to order me the part and I will see if I can replace it myself. The part came and it wasn’t the black cylinder of the connector cap. (Part number 21-52-6-759-854)
The part that I got is Line Couple (Part number 21-52-6-756-149) which that cashier told me that Technician had order it but my service advisor said differently.

My question is how can one damage the Line Couple? How can one damage this part by installing a fog light? I would believe them more if the part that was damage was black cylinder connector cap.
Any help will be grateful if you have any Bentley Sevice Manual and see how one can damage this part. I hope I make sense!
P.S. To Dave and Richard, I hope we can get together some time next week and see if you can help me replace the damage part. Hope you feel better Dave.

Ok after studying the Bentley manual for a bit I got some questions.
Where did this diagram come from cause that's no MINI in the lower right corner!
The information we are seeking is on page-340-22 to 340-30
From the diagram below, I understand that the object on the far left (13/14) is the Master Brake Cylinder. To the right--that circular disc (on opposite end between 10 & 9) is the Brake Booster Check Valve.
The diagrams I have of the Brake Booster vacuum lines look different than the picture below, so I'm a bit confused--that's why I asked where this diagram comes from.
From what I gather, #7 is behind the firewall--I'm still trying to identify that connecting hose--it's after the Brake Booster Check Valve and that other still unidentified object to the right.
Ooooh that appears to be the Clutch Slave Cylnder (pg. 210-6) --ok. So the piece they ordered connects between the Brake Booster Check Valve and the Clutch Slave Cylinder. Ok, it's a bit more clear now.
Choump, where did you say the leak was???

I'm guessing the diagram is from the ETKA CD.
I haven't studied the fog light install, but what part of the install are they saying got near these parts? (the section running through the firewall to the toggles? )

Hey Richard, from what I can see the leak was from the top of # 12 but the part I got today from the dealer is #7. The Technician had order it but my service advisor said differently. Now I am very confuse, All I did was routing the wire harness from inside the vehicle to the engine compartment
insure that the wires like the Installation Instructions said. I don't think I came near #12 or #7.
This thing is driving me crazy because first of all, I don’t even see where #7 is in my mini. Richard said that it may be behind the firewall and if so for the diagrams I had shown is the only place that I puncture a hole was on the grommet.
Anyway I order #12 just incase I may need it.

Ok after inspecting the car more carefully I think you are right but I don’t see any leak from there as of now. Richard and Dave do you think is hard to replace? Still don't know how I could have damage the piece?

From what I read, we will need to access this from underneath the car--put it on jack stands, and remove some shielding to gain access. If what we are replacing is that hydraulic hose between the Clutch Slave Cylinder and Brake Booster Check valve--the hardest part seems in just removing all the pieces to gain access. We will then have to bleed your clutch and maybe the brakes as well. I bled both on my MC and it's not difficult--but requires 2 people. I may go ask my neighbor just in case since he's outside working on his car now.
Hey Richard but I don't know if you have to jack the mini or go from the underneath of the car because I can see the piece very clear.

ok, so I gather that the piece highlighted now in red is #7. Is that part leaking near the grommet?
#12 seems like it would be much further away from the grommet, so I'm thinking the tech was right and the service advisor was wrong in saying it was 12.

Thanks Choump. I just talked to my neighbor who is a BMW mechanic and he will be around next weekend to help us if we need. We talked a bit about your problem and he doesn't think it will be hard to do, and gave some suggestions on identifying the problem before removing anything to fix it.
I'm confused--isn't #7 behind the firewall? It seems from the diagram that it sticks behind it? I think it's time I take a look at my MINI!

Hey Richard, after seeing the part in person. It looks just like the diagrams I show in red, which is # 7 and now I don't now see the same part on the inside of car. Anyway thanks for your help and I will see you next weekend. Maybe you will understand more by seeing it in person. Thanks Dave and get well soon.
