Thanks to Octane Guy for hosting the detail clinic today. I learned a lot of new stuff and we got my car looking pretty good in the process! It was great to finally meet all of you there and put faces to the names. I have never seen so many obsessed car people in one spot! It’s great to see such pride (and to confirm that I‘m not the only obsessed crazy person.)

Awwwww....I'm pretty sure Richard posted about this several weeks ago here on NAM. Sorry you missed it, cp!

I love seeing the pix from home! I'm still on the roadtrip and yesterday was the absolute highlight of the trip for me: attending YuccaPatrol's wedding to the lovely Elizabeth!

For a few pics, check out this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t=43129&page=2

Great pix Rick!! I was notified by a c3 member that your pix were up!

I was tired--after about 12 hours of detailing, I went out for dinner, then crashed. We got most of the cars done. DiD had to leave early so we didn't do him, and Matthew and I gave up our spots--as usual, we give priority to new members. Sadly I didn't have time to take any of my own pix, so I'm glad to see some here!

While our group was small, compared to past clinics, this definitely allowed us to spend more time on each car. Everyone got their hands on the PC DA and learned about the various chemicals.

Trent was a new c3 member that I met over at MOALA and he purchased a preowned 2002 PW MC from LB MINI and that car was sparkling--when he left!!! It was in serious need of claybar. I used #83 with my PC DA and topped it off with NXT Tech Wax. Boy was that finish smoooooooth!!!!

In fact, we spent maybe almost half the afternoon working on his car. Big thanks to everyone involved, especially Phubear2 for sticking around way past the end and helping me clean up and get things straight again.

It was a full day that began with a $3 pancake breakfast at a local community fundraiser, followed by buffing and detailing--whipped out my trusty toothbrush and Quik Detailer for Sheryls car to detail out wax residue from all the cracks. For lunch we had pizzas, a sushi platter, sodas, and chips!

We did a couple vinyl logos as well--had the cutter running while I detailed.

We wrapped things up around 6:30pm, a few hours passed the original ending time, but it was all fun.

Some quick notes: While each car had particular issues. some people had special needs like Sheryl who was entering her car in a car show next Sunday!

Trent: NXT Car Wash, Clayed, #83, NXT Tech Wax, Insane Shine on tires
Roger (BRG/Blk): NXT Car Wash, partial Clay and NXT Spray Wax
Sheryl (CR/Cab):NXT Tech Wax, and Clear Coat Polish/Wax on a polishing pad for that extra shine, toothbrush/mf/qd.
Charles (CR/Wht): NXT Tech Wax and half of an MTH install
Jeff (CR/Gry): NXT Car Wash, Clay Bar, NXT Tech Wax, Trim Spray Detailer, Scratch-X, Interior Quik Detailer, Insane Shine on tires, toothbrush/mf/qd
Rick (CR/Wht): Scratch-X, Quik Detailer, NXT Tech Wax

Thanks everyone for a great time! Look forward to seeing some of you at next Saturday's Lakewood MINI/Mini car show, and then of course, our next detailing clinic will be in the 2 or 3rd week of June. Maybe I'll see if there is another pancake breakfast going on!

Keep an eye out at http://c3club.org and the c3 forum here on NAM
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...splay.php?f=76

For future clinics.

Our next clinic will be in the 2nd or 3rd week of June. I didn't highly promote this clinic because I knew all of the c3 officers who normally help with the larger events weren't available. 6 to 10 cars is really the most I can handle in a day.

Normally, I will post on MINIUSA OL, MINI2, NAM, and the c3 website each month. This was our first clinic since Feb---March was AMVIV, and most of us needed the last 2 months to relax and catch up!

We are doing a MINI Car show on Saturday--come hang out with us in Lakewood if you don't already have plans.

Special thanks to everyone who helped restore the DVL to his original lustre.

I'll be doing the interior next weekend to get out the dog food crumbs, paw prints ,coffee spills ,fast food bits and t-shirts stuck under the seat.
He was nasty with bug guts and yucky stuff from my 4000 mile round trip to the Dragon. I did find some little dings and stone chips that I didn't know I had , though... so perhaps when attending c3's clinics you should work only on other peoples cars.

I recommend that anyone that can attend to find out just how dirty your car is and sample some good products as well as Richard's family's fine hospitality.
