Close to the freeway, but to far from the beach. Your not in the big tower there at the corner are you?

Not a bad idea, but not Huntington Beach, although we could drive up PCH a bit to get there.

Kind of like a Crystal Cove thing, but not as far and not as crowded.
Not Huntington Beach either, but another great suggestion, all are great actually.

I did a google on all of these, use the satellite view, and the parking lot at the corner of Beach and Adams looks to be larger then any of the others mentioned, with the exception of Peet's maybe. The only thing I wonder about is, if it is early, is there food in the area of Peet's that is easy to get to? I know the place I talked about has a few places in the shopping/strip center that serve breakfast.

Might be an excuse to get out and drive a little this weekend. I am supposed to be finishing up the build of my fireplace mantel, but any excuse to get out and drive is better then working.

I think they have Sushi restaurant, Olive Garden, Mexican Food, Movie Theater, Car Wash, Car Dealers (Not MINI though ) in the area too ... just to mention a few

I don't think we have parking there, even the Tower has only a few spaces

Is this where you meant?

Yes!

But that center runs from just above your arrow all the way to the corner, so there are lots of places to park and usually the southern end of that area is a little less crowded during the weekend.

How did you grab the screens shots? Did you printscreen to your clipboard? I couldn't get a grab of the picture just by saving the page, so I was frustrated.

Please PM me on how you did this. Thanks!

if you look to the end of your ? you will see a parking lot on the left hand side of newport BLV.. depending on how many cars we have we could use the biger parkinglot on 17TH st. on the right of newport blv..
this very close to the beach PCH we could even start by going to liedo island and get on the fairy with our minis and go accross the bay and back on PCH.
if you look at the pictuer you posted you will see what i am talking about..

 Remember, the original Huntington Beach meet in August 2002 was at Bolsa Chica State Beach..... And I was there! Seems fitting to return to our SoCal roots.

I'm actually just south of the Charter Center next door to Chili's Restaurant in the two-story office building at 17111 Beach. It's a private lot with about 25 spaces in front and 60 in back - it would be all ours in the morning so there would be no parking worries. It was only a suggestion to meet there so that we have a central location where we can all park together. We could then caravan from there to the downtown area.

I still like the idea of Bolsa Chica.
With all this heat and humidity, a beach bash sounds so enticing right now.

WOWEE! I was just checking my calendar to see what was happening this weekend, and I saw a note: "Full Moon MINI Madness - Huntington Beach"... I really had to dig for this thread. I gather this event has petered out due to lack of interest.

Too bad... A Friday night thing might have been fun this weekend.

I feel bad about missing so many local events, but my work schedule has been mental, and It's getting to the point where I never know whether I'll be able to attend something. I had originally planned to do the Montery Historics this weekend, but work plans crashed that one! Can't commit to anything this weekend, but still interested in what's going on in case we get a few free hours!
