After checking every other day for nearly a month, the new GoMINI Magazine is finally here. I picked mine up at Tower Records in the Tustin Marketplace today. They had several left and my girlfriend said that she also saw them at Barnes & Noble. Expensive at $10, but you can't take the computer the the bathroom to read!

I read it a few days ago at B&N whilst having coffee. It's too bad a subscription costs more than paying the insane newstand price. Oh well, it's free in the store!

IT IS ISSUE #3. Maybe a local club can get together and buy in bulk. MOALA subscribes to Mini Magazine and Mini World and that are able to sell their members the magazines for $5 versus $8.75 at B&N.

I bought my first issue (#3) of GOMINI off a newstand on 3rd Street Promenade today. NICE!!! I had to drool at other peoples copies in the past! It was the last one at this news stand! Well, last one on display, I guess. I dunno. But ouch $11!!!

LOL Randy!
Yeah I saw your car---you had mentioned awhile back that the photogs had taken pix in that burned out canyon.

Wait I just realized, maybe I don't have the latest version. Mine says April/May and there's a full page at the end with your car saying the issue will be on sale in May titled Forest Ranger, off exploring in a nitrous'd MINI.

APR/MAY is the lastest issue - #3. Most of the Barnes & Noble stores as well as Tower Records have them. Some have the last issue also. It is an OK magazine. I am hoping that it will improve with each issue, which appears to be the case. I have been getting Mini World (same publishers) since it first appeared in the early '90s and it has evolved into a great magazine. British magazines tend to have much more advertising than those here in the USA, but that is the unique thing - ads are an annoyance in most magazines but eye candy in car mags. Anyway, sorry for the rant. I hope to see more US cars in there.

Thanks Rick! I guess I'm not all that familiar with British mags and defiitely the ads are different. Even kinda cool seeing paint companies advertising prices for painting wheel arches or the full body. Not that I would want to, but I hadn't seen anything like that in European Car or other car mags in the US.

The writing style is rather interesting too. After reading the last issue, I learned more about the people I've met, than I did when I met them in person. Of course it makes me question how accurate the articles are as well. I'm referring to Peter Horvath being a car photographer turned racer and tuner of Japanese cars, and Cy of Diamond Racing and his partner with their business.

this has got to be a regional thing then

I picked up my only copy of GoMINI in Toronto about the time this thread started. I've been scouring the book stores since the end of last month after the next issue is supposed to be out and nothing.

It is a very quick read but still quite entertaining.

I have emailed them to find a local retail location but they were absolutely no help at all. Their email reply was to subscribe instead of buying it at a bookstore!

At any rate, does anybody in the Chicago area have any idea where I could find this on the shelves?

Unfortunately this is a bimonthly magazine and we get the leftovers nearly a month after they come out in England. I have been meaning to subscribe. Tower Records and Barnes & Noble is supposed to cary the magazine nationwide. Maybe some of our vendors will start supplying us with orders?
