I'm goin', but I'm gonna leave the show around 1:30-2pm (it closes at 4 pm). It's my stepmom's birthday, so I have to be back early for her little get-together.

It was agood time for all despite the CHP trying t owrite as many tickets as possible to some of the unfortunate ones leaving. Some amazing cars but the Mini's are still getting more than their share of interest. Randy

haha... i don't know if i'll ever have the opportunity to skateboard a freeway again... thank goodness i brought my board with me!

the meet was pretty cool, except for all the cops just posted up waiting to pullover anyone... sad. the turnout was amazing, but as usual we were drowning in VWs (not that it's a bad thing... except when you're trying to find ONE midship GTi... never did see it again )

can't wait to do it again!

I had a great time! But next year we need someone to get there early so we have a big section just for minis. I was parked in the midst of many audis all alone

Santa Barbara News Press ran a front page story the other day titled 'Car Wars' and mentioned that the CHP ticked about 20 vehicles outside the show grounds. CHP denied they were cracking down but admitted that officers attended a class instructing them on how to ID illegal mods, exhaust, and tinted windows.

Beamerfest officials have expressed concern over the unwanted attention and have been assured they will not be targeted.

somehow cops sitting outside the fairgrounds, on the freeway entrance beside the fairgrounds, 2 patrol cars creeping through the VCR, and the words "there are cops up and down the 101, we know what's going on" sounds like cracking down in a sense. but who am I to say.

for those going to bimmerfest... i hope this doesn't happen again. it'll just put a damper on the whole deal.

 

What the cops did was WRONG and out of line...we were there to have fun. We were'nt street racing or doing burn outs. They sat outside the fairgrounds and waited for us while people were running red lights right in front of the cops

I won't be going back to Santa Barbara any time soon.
